The most common questions and answers about the products

A.S (short for both “after sex” and Aima Sense) is an innovative product created by Aima Sense in collaboration with experts in intimate hygiene and tampon production. A.S is a high-absorbency tampon that is inserted into the vagina after sex to absorb any additional bodily fluids (semen) in just 3 minutes.
Thanks to A.S, post-sex hygiene becomes significantly easier. Once you've used an A.S, you can laugh, cough, go for a walk, or work out without worrying about uncomfortable “surprises” that can happen right after, or even the day after, sex. A.S does its job while keeping your mucous membranes comfortable, without drying them out. Aima Sense’s A.S has a patent pending due to its unique design and purpose.
Be sure to have your A.S nearby before sex. For ease, use Aima Sense's reusable applicator (see the applicator tab) for a simple, hygienic, and comfortable insertion. It’s best to load the applicator with an A.S in advance, so you’re ready when the moment strikes. A.S can also be inserted without the applicator, just like a regular tampon.
- Insert the A.S, with or without the applicator
- Lie back and relax, or go about your day. (Tip: It’s always a good idea to have a pee after sex.)
- After 3–5 minutes, gently remove the A.S by pulling the string. Dispose of the used A.S in household waste
Read the instructions included in the box before using A.S for the first time.Note: A.S is not a contraceptive and does not protect against sexually transmitted infections (STIs); it should not be used as a substitute for a condom in these respects.

After Sex Tampon
Our A.S. tampon is soft and designed with a density that allows it to quickly absorb semen after intercourse. It has a limited absorption capacity, specifically adapted to absorb a typical ejaculation volume of around 3–5 ml. Thanks to its design and fiber properties, it absorbs evenly from all directions. You can safely remove it after 3–5 minutes without worrying about leakage. Even when you stand up, it stays securely in place.Regular Menstrual Tampon
A standard menstrual tampon is compact and made to hold blood for a longer period; its surface is often firm and smooth due to the tight compression of fibers. Menstrual blood flows from the uterus, which the tampon is designed for, as it opens up like a flower to catch droplets primarily coming from above. A regular tampon (rated for medium flow) can absorb about 9–12 ml, depending on the brand. How does a regular tampon work for absorbing semen?
- When you stand up, a regular menstrual tampon may easily slip out, resulting in a messier experience. (Trust us, we know this from extensive testing with focus groups early in our journey).
- It takes significantly longer to absorb fluids. You may even forget it inside due to the extended absorption time, which is not ideal!
- Regular tampons can’t effectively absorb all fluids due to the tightly packed fibers.
- Regular tampons have a much larger absorption capacity, which means that if left inside, they could retain more fluid than is necessary.
We believe the most important aspects of this product are absorption efficiency, timing, comfort, and safety. In the end, using the right product for the right purpose is essential to ensure just that!
-
Yes! Amazing, right? A.S. effectively absorbs semen in the vagina in just 3 minutes. You can leave it in a little longer if you like; we recommend 3–5 minutes. To help ensure you don’t accidentally forget your A.S. inside, we suggest setting a timer. Please read the instructions before use.
Read the user manual before use.
-
Before using your applicator, please read the instructions to ensure proper care. It’s important to boil the applicator before first use (do not boil the lid).
The applicator is designed to help you insert your A.S. tampon or your regular menstrual tampons easily and comfortably. It replaces the single-use applicator that often comes with tampons.
Eco-Friendly Choice: Unlike disposable plastic or cardboard applicators, a reusable applicator helps reduce waste, making it a more environmentally friendly option.
Cost-Effective: Over time, a reusable applicator can save money by reducing the need to buy tampons with included single-use applicators, which often come at a higher cost.
Convenience and Comfort: Reusable applicators are designed to provide a smooth, comfortable insertion experience, often crafted from high-quality materials that can be more comfortable than disposables.
Hygienic and Easy to Clean: These applicators are usually made from body-safe, non-porous materials that can be easily washed and sanitized, ensuring safe and repeated use.
Compatible Across Tampon Types: A good reusable applicator is versatile, working with different tampon brands, flow sizes, and even specialized tampons, like the A.S. tampon.
In summary, using a reusable tampon applicator is an effective way to support a more sustainable lifestyle, save on menstrual care costs, and enjoy a convenient and comfortable experience while maintaining hygiene standards.

Yes, it can.
Did you know that a woman’s vagina has a natural pH level of around 3.8–4.5, while semen has a pH level of about 7.2–8? This difference is crucial for sperm mobility, but it can also disrupt the pH balance in the vagina after unprotected sex. This imbalance can sometimes lead to issues like bacterial vaginosis or yeast infections.
Many women who use the A.S tampon after sex have shared that it has not only become a regular part of their hygiene routine but has also helped alleviate discomfort they previously experienced frequently. Amazing, isn’t it?
In March 2024, we launched a study to find out how common post-sex imbalance is after unprotected intercourse and to see how the use of A.S might help prevent it. Of the women who reported frequently experiencing some form of imbalance after sex, a full 95% noticed a significant improvement thanks to the A.S tampon.
